One look at Stonecroft Byzantine’s pedigree
leaves little doubt that he was destined
for greatness. His Junior Horse career began in
1997 as the Yearling Colt and World Futurity
Yearling Colt Champion, and was followed by
world titles in each of the next 5 years.
Stonecroft Byzantine was the World Futurity Two
Year Old Stallion Champion, the World Three Year
Old Park Harness Champion, and, busting out of
the junior ranks, the 2000 World Open Park
Harness Champion as a four year old. “Byzy” then
went on to win world titles in both Open and
Amateur Park Harness before making his debut
under saddle which culminated in his winning the
2005 World Open English Pleasure Championship.
In 2007 Byzy debuted in yet another division by
winning the exciting $10,000 Amateur Pleasure
Driving Championship at New England. At that
time, PlayMor Farm made the decision to buy the
stallion to both add his bloodlines to their
breeding shed as well as another entertaining
horse to their show string.
With less than a
handful of practice drives together, Byzy and
Cathy Hazen teamed up to win the Amateur
Pleasure Driving Stallions National Championship
and finished as the 2007 Reserve World Amateur
Pleasure Driving Champions.
Bred lightly but with great success, Stonecroft
Byzantine’s offspring have his beauty and show
attitude. Proving to be a well rounded breeding
stallion, his offspring have won from the park
division all the way to western and dressage
divisions. Versatility, beauty, athleticism, and
charisma are all available to you in one very
Byzy Morgan horse.
